recycled cardboard boxes, acrylic paint, Japanese washi, found object, sealing wax, linen thread
Forget your perfect offering
there is a crack in everything
that’s how the light gets in.

it makes me giggle to see the flimsy thread and the seal
The little packet was tucked away at the back of a drawer in an antique Japanese home shrine that my partner bought in Kyoto. It made its way into this *wonderbox* – I have no idea what it contains – an offering of some kind… ?
gotta open it to see:-)
To do that would destroy the seal! I love the not-knowingness, the mystery … 🙂
This ticks all my boxes – just beautiful =D
Thank you Rita – I love the simplicity, and the thought of all the stories that little packet could tell…
Miriam – this piece is magnificent. I love your subdued color sense here. Very effective!
Thank you Patricia – sometimes simplicity and “subdued color” speak with surprising strength! I’m glad you could hear 🙂
